Summer Blues

Hubby and I spent some time this morning capturing a little taste of Oregon’s summer.

It took us about an hour and 20 minutes to pick 15 pounds of blueberries.

We’ve been picking at the same place for years because the berries are so good. Today I asked how old are the bushes and the owner said they bought the place in 1965 when the bushes were quite small. I had no idea blueberry bushes produced so long!

Like squirrels putting away nuts for winter, we will put most in the freezer to enjoy later, but a few will find their way into a cobbler today and some pancakes tomorrow!

You see, I can spend a Saturday not visiting quilt shops. I am consoling myself with the knowledge that there is a huge quilt show nearby next weekend!! 😉

Until next time,
Happy Quilting!
